Product Design

PRODUCT DESIGN

Product Design at Macademia introduces young people aged 12+ to how everyday objects are imagined, designed, and made. Students explore user-centred design, materials, ergonomics, and branding while developing practical skills in sketching, prototyping, testing, and creative problem- solving.

The course is structured into six standalone modules, each running as a 6-week block (2-hour sessions). Modules can be taken in sequence or mixed with other subjects, allowing a flexible learning journey.

Through hands-on projects, students design and develop their own products, from idea to final presentation. The course supports GCSE and A-Level studies while helping students build strong portfolio work and prepare for further study or careers in product design and related fields.
